Who You Are

You are a freelance Apparel Designer with a background in wovens and tailored styles. You have a passion for inclusive, functional, and aspirational product design. You can seamlessly move from concept, to design exploration, to tech design throughout the design process. You are collaborative in partnering with other functions to ensure designs meet the customer and business needs. You are proficient in Creative Suite (specifically illustrator, photoshop, acrobat), PLM experience and MSOffice.



Responsibilities

  • Partner with Chief Creative Officer and tech designer on designing styles against the seasonal creative brief 

  • Execute the end to end design process from concept/swipe phase, to sketches, to CAD creation, to design iterations, to tech pack hand off, update files throughout the season based on development process and information gathering (ie costing, sourcing, proto feedback, etc)

  • Collaborate cross functionally to incorporate creative, merch, and costing feedback

  • Partner and communicate with factories from sourcing trims/materials to proto or mock up requests to tech pack hand off

  • Partner with team to ensure design stays on calendar and WF meets T+A dates


Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in apparel design and design development

  • Sewing/garment construction knowledge in wovens

  • Ability to scale workload up and down across the calendar to meet design needs across the Go-To-Market calendar

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively and independently in a remote environment

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in their work

  • Computer skills: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Slack PLM software experience, etc


Time Commitment

  • Roughly 20-30 hrs a month (this can go up or down based on seasonal needs)
